Jelena Čvorović was born in Belgrade in 1968. She graduated from the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology (Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade) in 1992 and she defended her MA thesis at the Department of Archeology in 1994. In the period 1996 – 2001 she was a doctoral student at Arizona State University, Department of Anthropology, Tempe, AZ, USA where she received a doctoral degree. She is employed as scientific associate in the Ethnographic Institute SASA since 2002. In the period 2002-2006 she was the Adjunct professor, Anthro-pology, Arizona State University, Department of Anthropology, Tempe, AZ, USA.. She published two monographic books and many scientific papers in the publications in the country and abroad, mainly in English. She also participated international conferences. She also works as a translator. Her interest is focused as well on the visual anthropology. She is the author of the documentary film about Roma people that was twice rewarded on the festivals of ethnological films. She speaks English.
