Nina Aksić, PhD, Đorđina Trubarac Matić, PhD, Bojana Bogdanović, PhD, and Teodora De Luka, MA, associates of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, stayed in Romania from July 7-11, 2025, where they participated in the implementation of the planned activities within the project, “Research of Culture and History of Serbs in Romania”. In this phase of the project, field research into Christmas, Patron Saint’s Day and wedding customs in Serbian villages of the Danube Gorge (Srpska Požežena, Radimna, Mačević and Stara Moldova) were conducted. The results of the research will be presented at the international scientific conference “Material and Spiritual Culture of Serbs in Multi-ethnic Environments and/or Peripheral Areas”, which will be held in Niš in October this year.

The project “Research of History and Culture of Serbs in Romania” is organised by the Scientific Research and Culture Centre of Serbs in Romania (Timisoara) in collaboration with the SASA Institute of Ethnography, Institute for Balkan Studies, SASA Institute for the Serbian Language, Institute for Literature and Arts, and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Niš.
