Ivan Đorđević Ph.D. is a Research Associate at the Institute of Ethnography, SASA. He graduated (2003), obtained M.Phil. (2008) and Ph.D. (2014) from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, Department of Ethnology and Anthropology. 

Ivan Đorđević Ph.D. (born in Belgrade, 1977) is a Research Associate at the Institute of Ethnography, SASA. He graduated (2003), obtained M.Phil. (2008) and Ph.D. (2014) from the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, Department of Ethnology and Anthropology. He is the staff member of the Institute of Ethnography SASA since 2005, where he gained the Research Associate title in 2015. He participated in realization of three research projects of the Institute. Since 2011 he is engaged within the project "Cultural Heritage and Identity". Until today he was a part of three international research projects (inter-academia cooperation projects between the Ethnographical Institute and partner institutions from Slovenia and Bulgaria). Ivan Đorđević has published three books, scientific articles and reviews in both national and international scientific journals and paper-collections, and is member of Serbian Ethnological and Anthropological Society.

He actively participated in many national and international conferences. He is a regular associate and lecturer at SC Petnica, and gave lectures at universities, both at home and abroad. He is a member of Editorial board of scientific journal "Bulletin of the Institute of Ethnography SASA". His research interests and activities are directed towards the issues of anthropology of sports, political anthropology and anthropology of literature. As a result of his research with a focus on the anthropology of sports he published the book, titled “An anthropologist among the football fans” (The Best Scientific Monograph Award in ethnology and anthropology for 2014 and 2015 (Institute of Ethnography SASA). He was engaged as a PI in two research projects: "Child Marriages among Roma population in Serbia" (UNICEF, IE SASA, Roma Women's Center BIBIJA) and "Gender Gaps among Marginalized Roma in Serbia", supported by World Bank.
