The 9th international scientific conference Material and Spiritual Culture of Serbs from Multi-ethnic and/or Peripheral Regions organized by the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology of the West University of Timișoara, the Faculty of Philosophy of the University of Niš, and the Centre for Scientific Research and Culture of Serbs in Romania within the Union of Serbs of Romania, was held at the West University of Timișoara from October 14-16, 2022. The SASA Institute of Ethnography’s associates Milina Ivanović Barišić, PhD, Nina Aksić, PhD, and Bojana Bogdanović, PhD, participated in the conference. On this occasion, they presented the results of field research they conducted as part of the Research of Culture and History of Serbs in Romania project, organized by the Scientific Centre of the Union of Serbs in Romania (Timișoara). Milina Ivanović Barišić, PhD, and Nina Aksić ,PhD, had presentation on the topic of food culture of Serbs in the Romanian part of Banat, while Bojana Bogdanović, PhD, pointed out the role and the significance of the wedding customs in the processes of construction and manifestation of the ethnic identity of the Serbian minority community in Romania. All the papers presented at the conference will be published in the next issue of the journal Ishodišta (No. 9).
