Bojana Bogdanović, PhD, and Nina Aksić, PhD, associates of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, stayed in Timisoara from August 26 to 30, 2024, where they participated in the implementation of planned activities within the project “Research of History and Culture of Serbs in Romania”. In this phase of the project, the field research on Christmas, saint day and wedding customs of Serbs in the villages of Mali Bečkerek, Soka, Nemet, Ulbeč, Ivanda, Denta and Fenj was conducted. The results of this research will be presented at the international scientific conference “Material and Spiritual Culture of Serbs in Multi-ethnic Environments and/or Peripheral Areas“, which will be held in Timisoara from October 18 to 20, 2024.
The project “Research of History and Culture of Serbs in Romania” is organised by the Scientific Research and Culture Centre of Serbs in Romania (Timisoara) together with the SASA Institute of Ethnography, the SASA Institute for Balkan Studies, the SASA Institute for the Serbian Language, Institute for Literature and Arts and Faculty of Philosophy, University of Niš.
