An online workshop: “Nationalism, Memory and Democratic Decay in the New EU Member States and Candidate Countries” organized by the Jean Monnet project of the University of Udine “We are the people of the United Europe – reflections on the European State of Mind” (WE-UE) and the Jean Monnet module “Anthropology of the European Union”, at the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade, was held from 23rd to 26th February. Twenty-five university professors and scientific researchers, engaged in several European universities and research institutions, participated in the workshop. As part of the session “Identity Boundaries and Belonging in Divided Societies”, the results of their research were presented by the research associates of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, Katarina Mitrović, PhD, and Branko Banović, PhD. In notable presentations, Katarina Mitrović, PhD, presented the results of the research “From Diaspora with Love: Preliminary Remarks on Cultural Europeanisation of Serbia”, and Branko Banović presented the results of the research “Between Solidifying and Fracturing the Montenegrin Identity: Identity Controversies over Montenegro’s Integration into the European Union and NATO”. Jean Monnet activities within the Erasmus+ programme aim to promote excellence in teaching and research in the field of European Union studies.
