On Thursday, March 23, a lecture will be held by Duško Petrović, PhD, associate professor at the Department of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology of the Facultyof Humanities and Social Sciences University of Zagreb. In the lecture entitled “Sovereignty has faltered? Two cases of sovereignty falter of the nation-state with the example of Croatia”, Duško Petrović, PhD, will attempt to confirm or refute the hypothesis of the political scientist Wendy Brown regarding the weakening of the sovereignty of the nation-state in the modern globalised world. The lecture will first define what the lecturer calls signs of the faltering of sovereignty, and then try to recognise these signs of falter in the previously ethnographically described and analysed examples of social crisis in Croatia.
The lecture will be held at 11a.m., in the SASA Building (Knez Mihailova 36) 1st floor, room 102.
