The Working Group Forum of the SASA Institute of Ethnography invites you to the lecture and discussion “Creating a digital database with the archival folklore material of the SASA IE: challenges, experiences and the first results.” On this occasion, the results of the first phase of work of the digitalisation of the archival folklore collection of the SASA Institute of Ethnography will be presented. The work to create this digital database started in May 2022, when the project Creation of the Digital Database of the Songs of the SASSA IE was launched, financed by the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia. With Đorđina Trubarac Matić, PhD, as the lead, in cooperation with engineer Branislav Tomić, a team of associates of the SASA IE comprising Milan Tomašević, PhD, Nina Aksić, PhD, Biljana Milenković Vuković and Bojana Vuković started work on the systematisation and digital processing of the material, and the creation of the database.

During the presentation of the digital database of the Folklore Collection of the SASA IE, the archival folklore collection of the SASA IE will be presented to the attendees, and the authors of the database will share their experiences of the work involved in its creation. Those interested in using the database will be given guidelines regarding the types of searches enabled by the web application for accessing the database.
