As part of the celebration of the SASA Institute of Ethnography’s 75th anniversary, a national scientific conference with international participation, “Anthropology of the future”, will be organised on the 8th and 9th September at the Viminacium Archaeological Park. The co-organizers of the scientific conference, which gathers 26 scientific works both from home and abroad (the United Kingdom, Slovenia, Germany, Greece and Montenegro), are the SASA Institute of Ethnography and the Institute of Archaeology, Belgrade. The scientific conference was conceived as a discussion platform for ethnologists and anthropologists, professionally engaged in various scientific and professional institutions, on the future of anthropology as a discipline, but also on the world we live in. In this sense, topics that will be explored in the conference concern, on the one hand, theoretical and methodological innovations in the discipline that are necessary for “coming to grips with” the modern world and, on the other hand, new fields and new topics that appear in the digital era. Some of the questions raised by this conference include: new information technologies, surveillance society, science in the Anthropocene, anthropology and environmental issues, the issue of migration in light of new technologies, anthropology and social media, etc. The conference will be organized as three plenary lectures and five thematic sessions.

The organization of the scientific conference is supported by the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia and Viminacium Archaeological Park.
