Associates of the SASA Institute of Ethnography participated in an international scientific conference “Contemporary Serbian Folkloristics 16”, which was held in Tršić, from October 3-5, 2025. The conference was organized by The Association of Serbian Folklorists, University Library “Svetozar Marković” in Belgrade, the Scientific, and Educational and Cultural Centre “Vuk Karadžić” in Tršić. The conference themes were: “Internet, Artificial Intelligence, Post humanism: Challenges of Materials and Folklore Studies” and “Contemporary Folkloristics.”

Associates of the SASA Institute of Ethnography also took part in the conference, presenting the following publications:

Ivana Bašić, principal research fellow – “Metaphors of Knowledge in Traditional and Contemporary Serbian Culture”

Milan Tomašević, senior research associate – “The Folklore Dimension of Contemporary Conspiracy Theories”

Mladen Stajić and Danilo Trbojević, research associate – “Pouring Fear: The Ethno medical Practice of Lead Melting in Jadar and Rađevina”

Nevena Milovanović Minić and Sonja Žakula, research associate- “Pets: From Family and Community, Through Objectification and Back”

A plenary lecture, “Fan Fiction as a Form of Contemporary Folklore Production and the Emergence of a New Literary Genre” was held by Ljiljana Gavrilović, principal research fellow (retired).

In addition, Đorđina Trubarac Matić, senior research associate, presented the publications of the Association of Serbian Folklorists.
