Three research associates of the SASA Institute of Ethnography participated in the international scientific conference “Contemporary Serbian folklore XIII” held in Tršić from September 29 to October 1, 2023. The conference was organized by the Association of Serbian Folklorists, “Svetozar Marković” University Library, “Vuk Karadžić” Culture Center from Loznica, and “Vuk Karadzic” Scientific, Educational and Cultural Center from Tršić. Milan Tomašević, PhD, presented a paper “Semiotic Analysis of a Popular Cosmological Narrative”, Danilo Trbojević, PhD, presented his paper “The Death Needle: Magical Concepts as a Tool for Interpreting the Past, (re)constructing Autobiographical Narratives and Overcoming Identity Traumas”, while Noel Putnik, PhD, presented the topic “From Mythos to Logos: Comparative Review of the Terminology Related to Storytelling in Ancient Greece”. The thematic and disciplinary diversity of the presentations and international presenters contributed to the dynamic and intellectually stimulating atmosphere of the conference.
