On April 16, 2024, Branko Banović, PhD, assumed the position of director of the  SASA Ethnographic Institute. Colleague Banović completed all levels of academic studies at the Department of Ethnology and Anthropology at the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Belgrade. From 2008 to 2021, he held various positions at the Regional Museum of Pljevlja (documentarian, curator of the ethnographic collection, director), where he obtained the professional title of museum advisor in 2014. Since 2017, he has been engaged at the Faculty of Culture and Tourism at the University of Donja Gorica as a visiting lecturer for undergraduate and postgraduate studies. Since June 2021, he has been employed at the  SASA Ethnographic Institute as a senior research associate. His scientific bibliography includes works in the fields of identity, political anthropology, gender studies, multiculturalism, cultural heritage, social history, as well as studies addressing environmental anthropology, mining anthropology, and medical anthropology.
