Katarina Mitrović, PhD, research associate of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, was engaged in a postdoctoral project in the Czech Republic at the Department of Social and Cultural Anthropology, Faculty of Arts and Philosophy, University of Pardubice, from December 1st to February 28th. Her engagement was related to the project “Trends in Social and Cultural Anthropology” and research in the fields of applied anthropology, economic anthropology and the anthropology of growing up. During her stay in Pardubice, Mitrović researched student migrations following the horizontal course of student mobility. Bearing in mind the path from education to employment as central to the transition to adulthood, she analysed the experience of student mobility through the prism of narratives about “well used” youth, practices and positioning in the labour market, as well as experiences that lead to independence and adulthood. Katarina Marković, PhD, presented the results of her research at the University of Pardubice on February, 21st, 2023.
