Noel Putnik, PhD, research associate of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, participated in two international conferences at the end of June and the beginning of July. 

He participated in the 9th international conference of the European Society for the Study of Western Esotericism at the Malmo University, Sweden, from June 26 to 28, dedicated to the topic of “Western Esotericism and Practice”. In the panel “Ethnographic Approaches” he presented the paper The Role of Fear in Shamanic Ascension: A Case Study of Neoshamanic Practices in Serbia.

He participated in the international conference Eastern and Western Traditions of European Iconology 6: Theatrum Mundi, which was held the University of Szeged (Szegedi Tudományegyetem), Hungary, from July 2 to 5, 2023. At the conference, Noel Putnik, PhD, presented a paper The Anthropological and Psychological Aspects of Renaissance Cosmographical Diagrams.
