On Wednesday, May 15, at 1 PM, in Hall 2 of SASA, the promotion of the collection "Cincari: Cultural Exchange, Identity, and Heritage" will take place. This collection is the result of years of interest by the Committee for the Study of National Minorities and Human Rights of SASA in the Cincari community in Serbia. Speakers at the event will include academic Tibor Varadi, PhD, Mladena Prelić, PhD, Lila Kona and Aristotelis Martinović.
The collection "Cincari: Cultural Exchange, Identity, and Heritage" aims to illuminate the history and culture of this people, their social roles, and their ethno-sociocultural relationships with the surrounding environment, as well as to encourage further research. Some of the articles published in it focus on issues of identity from historical or contemporary perspectives, while others examine the relationships between Serbs and Cincari in Serbian communities and their mutual cultural exchange. Additionally, the collection addresses the paths taken by the Cincari, their cultural and linguistic heritage, family memory, and more.
