An international collection of papers titled "Choreography of Traditional Dance on Stage: Crises, Perspectives, and Global Dialogues" has been published by the SASA Institute of Ethnography and the Ensemble of Folk Dances and Songs of Serbia. The collection contains 14 scientific papers authored by scholars from Serbia, Croatia, the USA, Ireland, France, the UK, Canada, Turkey, and North Macedonia.
This collection of papers emerged as a result of a series of conferences held during the Ethno Summit TradicijaNova, organized by the Ensemble of Folk Dances and Songs of Serbia "Kolo" The papers were initially presented as presentations at the conferences and later evolved into texts through years of repeated meetings, dialogues, and maturation. This collection explores the theoretical and practical problems, uncertainties, and challenges arising in the domains of professional stage presentations of traditional dances in Southeast Europe, while also connecting these discussions with global trends and discourses on dance, art, and heritage.
The editors of the collection are professor Dunja Njaradi, PhD, from the Faculty of Music Arts in Belgrade, Miloš Rašić, PhD, research associate at theSASA Institute of Ethnography and Krešimir Dabo, PhD, a research associate at the Institute for Migration and Ethnicity in Zagreb.
