Two new works have been published in the METROON: Sources in Ethnology and Anthropology edition. The publication “Maps and Memories” was co-written by Professor Dragana Radojičić, PhD, principal research fellow of the SASA Institute of Ethnography and Ivana Bašić, PhD, senior research associate of the SASA Institute of Ethnography. The authors have tried to introduce readers to the actors, places, times and events that are directly linked to the geographical maps that ethnologists used during ethnological research and which are, today, part of the archives of the SASA Institute of Ethnography. The book is dedicated to Nevenka Nena Spasojević, a long-term associate of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, as a sign of gratitude for her dedicated work in our institute.

The monograph, “The Mosaic of Archival Closeness-Anthropology of Memories from the Pannonian to the Adriatic Sea“, by Ljiljana Bubnjević, the archivist at the Archives of Vojvodina and Professor Dragana Radojičić, PhD, principal research fellow of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, focuses on the archival sources the authors discovered  in the Archives of Vojvodina and those of Boka Kotorska and consulted for their work. In this way they created, as they say, “a mosaic picture of the past epochs”, “from an archival/anthropological perspective“.

The new visual solution for METROON has been designed in cooperation with the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade (Graphics and Books module). We would like to take this opportunity to express our gratitude for a successful and fruitful cooperation to docent Olivera Batajić Sretenović, MA, and Aleksandar Simonović, Master of Applied Arts, alumni of the Faculty of Applied Arts in Belgrade who designed the new cover of METROON.
