It is with pleasure that we inform that the Committee for the “Dušan Bandić“ award, comprising Professor Dragana Antonijević, PhD, Professor Vladimir Ribić, PhD, Professor Ildiko Erdei, PhD, docent Ana Banić Grubišić, PhD, and Jadranka Đorđević Crnobrnja, PhD, senior research associate, made the decision to present the award for the best book from ethnology and anthropology in Serbia for the year 2022 to Miloš Rašić, PhD, research associate of the SASA Institute of Ethnography, for the book “Imagined Homeland: Clubs, Identity and Integration Of Serbian Gastarbeiter in Vienna”. The author presented, in the mentioned monograph, his long-term ethnographic research that he carried out in Austria and Serbia. The study considers various aspects of the construction and presentation of the cultural and national identity of the Serbian gastarbeiter in Vienna, the processes of self-organisation of this cultural group and aspects of their integration into the Austrian socio-political system.
